ST. SOPHIA’S CATHEDRAL IN KYIV
The world famous St. Sophia Cathedral in Kyiv is one of the most ancient in Eastern Europe. Founded back in 1037 the cathedral is still famous for its mosaics and frescos by Byzantine masters that date back to the 11th century. Now the architectural monument of Kievan Rus’ is a part of the multi-structural museum complex that includes a bell tower, the House of Metropolitan, and other buildings of the 18th century, erected in the Ukrainian Baroque style.
