We start our Chernobyl tour at 9 am.

During our 2-hours ride to the Exclusion Zone (130 km) you will watch a documentary called “True Battle of Chernobyl”.

Arrival to Dytyatky checkpoint around 11 am.

 

PLEASE DO NOT TAKE PICTURES OF THE SECURITY PERSONNEL!

 

Be ready to show your passport to the police. Then we meet our guide (Envoy Officer) and sign the Safety rules.

On the way from 30-km checkpoint we will pass through Zalissya – one of 186 uninhabited villages at the area of 2600 sq. km.

Photo-stop at Chernobyl sign then sightseeing Chernobyl town: Wormwood Star memorial, St. Ilya Church, Memorial “To those who Saved the World”, stop at the place with robots and vehicles used to clean the radioactive fallout.

Entry to the 10 km Zone by passing Leliv checkpoint.

On the way to the Power Plant we stop at almost fully buried Kopachi village to visit the kindergarten which we can still enter.

On our way to Reactor 4 we pass by two unfinished cooling towers of the Reactor 5 and 6, then Storage Facility for Spent Nuclear Fuel Dry type, see the view of the whole complex of the nuclear power plant (units 1,2,3 all worked after the accident), Heating plant, artificial cooling lake of 23 sq. km.

Sightseeing Reactor 4 from a 270 m distance and witnessing of building a new shelter object Safe Confinement 100 (large arch).

Stop at the former Red Forest (Pine needles reddish because of radioactive fallout) near Prypiat sign.

Sightseeing Pripyat town: Lenin street, the palace of culture, Polissya hotel, supermarket Ferris wheel, if have time – the stadium, school, swimming pool or the hospital.

 

NO ENTRY INSIDE THE BUILDINGS DUE TO THE SAFETY REASONS!!!

 

On the way back you will see the Duga-3 system (aka Russian Woodpecker) from a distance, part of Soviet ABM early-warning network.

A compulsory beta-radiation control upon leaving Leliv 10 km checkpoint. Around 3:30 pm we have an ecologically clean and radiation-free lunch at Chernobyl Canteen.

Compulsory full-radiation control at Dytyatky 30 km checkpoint.

Return to Kiev around 6-7 pm.
